  3. What is Security BSides, anyway?

    Started by a group of hackers, security researchers and people passionate about cyber security, who are keen to share their knowledge and ideas, Security Bsides is a global network of community oriented, grassroots non-profit security events taking place anywhere from Athens, to São Paulo!

    From the Bsides Community Wiki:  "Bsides creates opportunities for individuals to both present and participate in an intimate atmosphere that encourages collaboration. It is an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants.   4. What is Cyber Week 2016? 

    Cyber Week 2016, is one of the biggest cyber security events in Israel taking place in Israel on June 19th - 23rd, 2016, with the 6th Annual International Cybersecurity Conference, at Smolarz Auditorium, Tel Aviv University. The conference is organized jointly by the Blavatnik Interdisciplinary Cyber Research Center (ICRC), the Yuval Ne'eman Workshop for Science, Technology and Security, the Israeli National Cyber Bureau, Prime Minister's Office and Tel Aviv University.

  5. I see everything is in english - will the talks be in english , too?

    Yes ! We will consider hebrew talks, but prefer to keep everything in english so we can share the knowledge and invite international guests to attend. If we accept presentations in hebrew, we’ll offer simultaneous translation.  
     
  6. How can I participate?  
    We're happy you asked - there are many ways to be a part of BsidesTLV:
    • Give a talk (CFP link)
    • Show a cool demo (CFP link)
    • Volunteer (Talk to us!)
    • Suggest designs for 2017 BsidesTLV Logo, badge and T-shirt! (Talk to us!)
    • Engage with speakers , ask interesting questions (Register & show up! that's easy!)
    • Meet new friends and share the knowledge (this is really the best part of Bsides)
    • Contribute / sponsor a social event after the talks , so we can all party together ! 
    • DJ during our social events and at breaks between talks 
    • Volunteer to run a lockpicking wokrshop or retro video game arcade zone 
       
  7. Can media/ journalists attend? Maybe. We'll think about it and let you know in 2017 
     
  8. Will the talks be filmed and later uploaded online?

  9. Why does it cost X NIS to attend?  Is it free for students?
    BSides events are traditionally FREE to all attendees, but sometimes there's a small fee needed to help cover costs - 2016 was free thanks to our sponosrs and TAU.
